on 2010-01-30We purchased this Christmas tree stand based on many of the great reviews. This past Christmas we found ourselves having to straighten the tree 3 times while using the traditional eye hook stand. We tried out the stand on the tree to see how it worked. It was very easy to straighten the tree using this stand. We have not used this for an entire Christmas season, so we'll have to see how it works this year.

on 2010-01-20Originally we had the H/S mondo christmas tree stand but after accidentally dropping it down a flight of stairs while bringing our Christmas stuff down from the attic, the tree stand shattered into all kinds of pieces and I was hard pressed to find a replacement H/S stand so close to the holidays. Plus the H/S stand was broken enough that I didn't dare use it for a 9' tree.
Anyhow, we found a possible replacement for the H/S stand, the Krinner Click Fix XL. It was tough to find a seller this close to Christmas but we finally found one new @ $44.99, made a purchase, and had our stand with two days to spare before we bought our tree.
At first I was concerned with the "no frills" design of the Krinner product because I was unclear how it would hold up to a 9' tree. This is important because we had a tree fall over three years ago before we got our H/S stand. As it turns out, pushing the wheel with your foot is a snap while a second person holds the tree. We did have to release the tree once or twice to get it straight before finally getting in the last crank or two, but we got it eventually.
Anyhow, my only gripe with the Krinner is that fine tuning tree adjustment is not as smooth as with the H/S stand. If you have a tree with a stem that's not very straight, I could foresee potential problems with the Krinner due to the lack of fine adjustments. In addition, our tree began to lean in the stand a bit towards the end of three weeks. Thankfully, it did not fall over, but is a reminder that one might need to release and reseat the tree in the stand.
On the whole I'm happy with this stand. It did its job and we'll use it next year.

on 2009-12-29This tree stand is SO easy to use, I was very impressed with it. You really just stick your tree in and push down on the lever to tighten. Even the guys from the tree lot who delivered our tree thought it was really cool and asked where we got it. :)

on 2009-12-18This is truly the most amazing thing. I put my tree up this year -- by myself -- in 15 seconds. I kid you not--absolutely NOT an exaggeration. You just stick the tree in the stand and use your foot to tighten the mechanism. You are standing -- not crawlin' around under the tree -- so you can clearly see if it's straight. I would give this 10 stars if I could. This will change your life! haha Or, at least, it will completely eliminate that insanely frustrating, make-you-crabby, make-you-cuss task of putting a tree up and leave you in a much more Christmas-y mood for decorating the tree :) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
