on 2009-12-31I bought these because I didn't want to chance putting my vintage glass birds on the christmas tree this year w/ 2 kittens in the house. On the upside I can report that these things are very tough; the kittens knocked the tree over several times and none of these broke or were damaged in any way. On the down side the springs seem totally inadequate to keeping these things upright and as a consequence they always have their tails in the air. No matter what I did I could not get them to stay level or at least correct-end-up. I bought these in both plum and red, and they're lovely, but unless I can figure out a way of keeping them upright they're going to be useless.
