on 2010-07-23I have been wanting a nice kitchen scale for a long time. My biggest need is separating out bulk purchased items to manageable amounts (i.e. hamburger). I did my research and discovered the Eatsmart Precision Pro. The nicest feature, I think is that you can easily change the units. This is very lightweight and attractive. You can leave it on the counter top or slide it in a drawer to keep it out of the way. A GREAT buy!

on 2010-07-23I use kitchen food scales when baking fancy cakes: the best recipes give ingredients in weight rather than volume. This sturdy scale enables me to place a glass mixing bowl on it, then measure ingredients into it sequentially, since I can tare it after each ingredient is added. It also is quite useful when making multiples of a recipe. I recently made a half-sheet layer cake, using a modified recipe for a 9 inch layer cake, and it came out beautifully due to the use of this scale. The ability to weigh ingredients in metric or English units lends itself admirably to changing the size of a recipe. For example, if I want to make a 1/2 recipe of something that starts off with 1 1/4 cups of water, I just zero the scale with my liquid measuring cup on it, add the 1 1/4 cups water, switch over to metric, divide in half, then I know the weight of the correct amount of water to use. The precision available with this scale is wonderful, as my previous scale had much coarser gradations in numbers and was difficult to read. The final kudos are for the size of the scale (small and very easy to store in my tiny kitchen), and size of the numbers (large and easy for my fuzzy eyes to see). The frosting on the cake: pricing is superb!

on 2010-07-20I got this scale since I started to learn baking cakes. This scale is awesome. Precision is great since I never messed up any of my cakes, and it is really convenient to use. If you want to measure the weight of, say, some sugar. You don't have to weigh the container first and then weigh together and do subtraction. Just put a container on the scale, set it to 0, then add the sugar in. It will display only the weight of sugar. Although I am a math major and I sure don't have problems calculating stuff, but this nice feature really comes in handy when you have more than 10 ingredients that you need to weigh.

on 2010-07-18Small foot print, easy to use, easy to read, nice looking. I use it to measure wax when making candles, I use it in the kitchen, and I used it to measure mail to figure postage.
