I had bought a blender based on a recent major consumer magazine's recommendation for blenders under $50. It failed my ice-crush test (left large chunks of ice when 'done'), so I was doubtful that this blender would do any better. I was wrong! This blender makes slush out of ice quickly and consistently, without needing to poke at the contents. And it does a great job pureeing too. I like that I'll be able to buy replacement ice-crushing blades down the road, too. The glass pitcher with multi-pour spouts is convenient as well. I do wish the cord were just a bit longer, though. Super product at a great price.

The lid does not fit tightly. The cord is extremely short. This is useless to me.

I have had this blender for about a month and it has been fantastic so far for everything I have tried to do with it. I would certainly recommend it to my friends.

Blender does what it's supposed to do. This is the second Oster blender that has died on me. I don't know about buying anymore Oster brand blenders. I bought this at the end of 2009 and have used it mainly for making smoothies. The blender only gets to be used about 2-3 times a week at most and it has already stopped working. It was good while it lasted but 8 months is too short compared to one of the cheap small blenders that still works from walmart today.

This is a great product. It does what it is supposed to do. The first time I used it, I made a mess and realized that I did not turn the bottom tight enough - never happened again. I've used it at least once a day to make fruit smoothies - and yes, I baby it (have learned to treat appliances gently), and I use a spoon to scrape some of the ingredients (fruit, wheat germ, or protein powder) off of the side when needed (not all the time) or loosen the stuff from the bottom (again, not all the time) - again very gently. It takes me ten minutes every morning to make my fruit/protein smoothie and they always taste great with the right consistency. I will write more after a few months to see how this holds up for the long term.
