Handsome, rugged, and classic in composition, this Asian Kitchen wok is an ideal tool for the high-heat searing and stir-frying called for in Eastern cooking. Created by Helen Chen, daughter of renowned Chinese chef Joyce Chen, the pan is made of durable 1.8 mm carbon steel. Substantial in weight and construction, it will gradually season to create an optimum cooking surface for veggies, seafood, and meat. Generous in size, the piece is a quick conductor and includes dual two-tone bamboo handles for comfortable, heat-resistant control. Flat-bottomed for use with gas, electric, and induction stovetops, the pan measures 14 inches in diameter and should be washed by hand for best results. on 2010-08-07This is a nice basic, no-frills wok. Made of heavy gauge steel. After treating the cooking surface as suggested, it performs great - almost like a non-stick surface, but without the potential of the coating coming off after awhile. The 14" dia. is perfect for my needs, not too big or too small. The only thing missing is a glass lid option which would be useful for simmmering.

on 2010-05-18Was a little bit worried about the fact that this wok needed to be seasoned, but it was easy and now works great. All the other pans have pretty much stayed in the cupboard, and this one stays on the burner. This is the cheapest pan that I own, and my favorite. Don't need to worry about scratching it, don't need to worry about denting it. After seasoning it is slicker than my teflon pan. Great value.

on 2010-04-06I did a lot of research on different wok's and I am glad I chose this one. The width of the carbon steel is not thin like most of other woks which means it has some weight to it. It was easy to season and has been a pleasure to cook on. The handles do warm up but it's nothing unmanageable. I'm very glad I invested in this wok.
