Customer ReviewsRated I don't know who came up with this product, but it is a great idea. Works perfectly. The only problem I've run into was that one time the small filter came loose and floated up to the top. Since then I've made sure it is well seated. Product is well worth the money. Eliminates the need for a small teapot and filters. Allows the tea to float freely and release all its goodness. Rated All plastic parts continue emit microscopic toxic gases after they came out of the factories, and will continue to do so in its lifespan. The emitting level varies, it depends on type of plastic and temperature it's exposing to. "Food Grade Plastic" is a type of plastic that emits the least gases, nonetheless it emits toxic gases. The way plastics are graded by various agencies is the level of "acceptable toxin" our bodies supposedly can take. I don't know about you, but there's no acceptable toxin level in my view. Plastic is an extremely useful material, we can't live without it. But it has no place in any food related products, especially a product like this that deals with hot liquid, which will increasing emitting level. As a general rule, all foods should be store in glass or stainless steel containers. The concept of this teapot is a 5 stars. However using plastic for hot liquid is a no no. Rated This is the best tea-pot i've owned, for work. If you work in an office environment, this is the best solution possible. You can carry it to the break room, rinse it out, drop in loose leaf tea, fill it up with the coffeemaker, and enjoy premium teas with no drips walking to or from the break room. As well, it makes loose-leaf teas easy as pie, there is no worrying about cleanup, just rinse it out. Rated Heat water in microwave or on stove and dump over loose leaf tea in the Ingenuitea Teapot. Keep water below boil point or tea may be "flat" tasting. (I was told the oxygen can get boiled out.) I set the microwave timer for four minutes steeping time. Sometimes the internal strainer pops out when the hot water is poured in. If strainer lifts off bottom, use a separate hand strainer over cup to filter loose tea. Easy to clean. I can't go back to tea bags ever again. From a Chinese store you can get 1800 cups of tea from one $9.00 15 oz. canister. Rated Love this tea maker, just pour hot water with the loose tea in the cup and let it sit for a few minutes, and then just place it over your favorite cup or thermos and just the liquid tea pours out. Easy to clean as well. Just to note that it is microwave safe to heat water in it and to make tea (e.g. in the office or where a stove is not present) - i have not tried this nor plan too since i use it at home prior to leaving with my thermos. Parts are from Japan it says and made in taiwan on the item itself. Dishwasher safe too (not sure about the filter though)... Will be getting this as gifts for my friends. Similar Products
