on 2010-07-23This has worked really well for us to capture kitchen scraps. It does not take up a lot of counter-space, but is tall enough to hold a lot. It also traps odors well - though after 3-4 days, we will get fruit-flies hovering over it. The filter has been going for 3 months now and still works well. Emptying it is easy enough though you have to be careful, the contents don't get on your hands.

on 2010-04-14I should have purchased disposable biodegradable bags.
If you keep this out in the sun it will start to lose its form and the lid won't close tightly. The hinges are cheap and if you are not careful they will break when trying to take the lid off.
Do not recommend.

on 2010-03-07I bought this 8 months ago. It worked quite well until the plastic holding the carbon filter snapped and can't be fixed.

on 2010-02-07Great green product! I have an older smaller version and was happy to find this for my son and daughter-in-law. Square design is space saving and lid carbon filter is improvement over my unfiltered version. Only complaint--no suggestion as to how often filter should be changed.
